We offer free returns for 30 days to all customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Luxembourg. Please note that Express shipping costs are not refunded. If you return an item from the EU, a return shipping fee of €20 will be charged, and €30 for all other countries. These costs will be deducted from the amount to be refunded. The return period starts on the day the shipment is delivered or collected.
Return Policy for Made-to-Order Items
Made-to-order items from our webshop can be returned unless personal adjustments have been made as agreed in advance. Custom changes are always made in consultation with the customer and are not covered by the return policy.
To be eligible for a return:
- Items must be in their original condition, without signs of wear or damage
- Items returned by post must be in their original packaging (including labels, boxes and pouches)
The following items cannot be returned:
- Engraved products
- Gift vouchers
We want you to enjoy your new jewellery worry-free. We stand behind the quality of our jewellery and offer a guarantee on all items.
- Conscious collection
We offer a two-year guarantee on our Conscious Collection from the date of purchase. This includes a certificate of authenticity. We will take care of your jewellery if damage occurs to the material or craftsmanship of the jewellery. We work with top manufacturers to create semi-handmade, responsibly produced pieces that last. We have confidence in the quality of our product and therefore offer a 2-year guarantee.
This also means that the guarantee does not cover lost items, scratches caused by normal use (such as a bent ring or broken necklace), improper use or storage of your product, or any alteration to your product carried out by a third party outside AVJ.
- Vintage collection
We offer a three-month guarantee on our Vintage collection from the date of purchase, exceeding the standard offered by other vintage shops. This is because we thoroughly inspect every item before offering it for sale. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a longer guarantee because we are not the maker of the jewellery.

How it falls - women
38 cm
Sits high on the neck and is often worn as a choker length. Wear this length on its own for a minimalist look, or combine it with longer necklaces for a striking layered look.
42 cm
One of our most popular necklace lengths. Sits beautifully around the base of the neck and works well with both finer necklaces and slightly larger pendants. Unsure? Then 42 cm is often the safest choice.
45 cm
A classic length for everyday wear, sitting just slightly lower than 42 cm. Perfect for wearing every day and ideal for combining with charms or pendants.
50 cm
A longer length that sits lower on the neckline. This length looks beautiful with an open neckline or as an additional layer in a necklace stack.
55 cm
A less common choice for women, but a beautiful option if you prefer to wear a longer necklace or want to combine it with a larger pendant.
60 cm
A long statement length. Looks best with larger pendants or as the longest layer when wearing several necklaces together.

How it fits - men
50 cm
A shorter necklace length for men. This length works best if you have a slimmer neck or prefer to wear the necklace slightly higher. On a broader neck, 50 cm may fit quite closely and feel more like a choker.
55 cm
One of the most popular and versatile lengths for men. This length sits naturally across the top of the chest and works well with or without a pendant.
60 cm
A longer and more relaxed fit. This is a popular choice for men who prefer to wear their necklace slightly lower or want to combine the necklace with a larger pendant.
Our advice
For most men, we recommend 55 cm or 60 cm. Choose 55 cm for the most versatile fit. Choose 60 cm if you want a slightly longer, more relaxed look. Do you have a slimmer neck or prefer a shorter fit? Then 50 cm can also work well.
