Please refer to the return guidelines below to determine if your purchased items are eligible for return. We offer free returns for 14 days to all customers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg. Please note that shipping costs for Express shipments are not refunded. If you return an item from the EU, a return fee of €20 will be charged and €30 for all other countries. These costs will be deducted from the refundable amount. The return period starts on the day the shipment is delivered or picked up.
Return policy for Made-to-Order Items
Made-to-order items from our webshop can be returned unless prior discussed, personal customizations have been made. Custom changes are always made in consultation with the customer and are not covered by the return policy.
To be eligible for a return:
- Items must be in their original condition without signs of wear or damage
- Items returned by mail must be in their original packaging, (including labels, boxes, and bags)
- Individual items from a set cannot be returned for a refund, store credit, or size exchange and must be returned as a complete set.
The following items cannot be returned:
- Engraved products
- Gift cards
Online and in-store purchases
If you have made a purchase on amsterdamvintagejewels.com, you can return your purchase online or in-store. Visit our return portal to return your purchase. If you want to return an item physically, you do not need to make an appointment on weekdays. Check our opening hours for the times when you can drop off the package
After your order has been packed and prepared for shipment, we will send you a tracking number by email so you can follow its progress and see when it will be delivered. If a vintage item needs to be custom made, please note that this can take up to 5 working days.
Notify us within 24 hours if you want to make changes to your order, such as canceling, adjusting, or changing the shipping address. Please note that we strive for fast shipping of orders and may not be able to accept all requests to cancel or modify an order.
Engraved items cannot be canceled or changed once they have been placed.
We have a 14-day exchange policy for all customers who have made a purchase both online and offline. To be eligible for an exchange, you must have your order confirmation email at hand or submit a return request via our return portal and all items must comply with the return conditions as stated in our Return Policy.
We want you to enjoy your new jewelry worry-free. We stand behind the quality of our jewels and offer a warranty on all items.
- Conscious collection
For our Conscious Collection, we offer a two-year warranty from the date of purchase. This includes a certificate of authenticity. We will take care of your jewelry if there is damage to the material or craftsmanship of the jewelry. We work with top manufacturers to create semi-handmade, responsibly produced pieces that last a long time. We have confidence in the quality of our product and therefore offer a 2-year warranty.
This also means that the warranty does not cover lost items, scratches caused by normal use (such as a bent ring or broken chain), improper use or storage of your product, and any modifications to your product made by a third party outside of AVJ.
- Vintage collection
For our Vintage collection, we offer a three-month warranty from the date of purchase, which exceeds the standard offered by other vintage stores. This is because we thoroughly inspect each item before offering it. Unfortunately, we cannot provide a longer warranty as we are not the maker of the jewelry.
We advise against having our products altered by external jewelers, as this voids the possibility of refund or replacement (if a defect occurs as a result of their work). This includes resizing or any type of repair work. Regardless of whether your product is under warranty, we offer repair services at a fair and reasonable price. In case your jewelry gets damaged, please send us a clear photo and description of the issue by email to hello@amsterdamvintagejewels.com.
All our vintage rings are unique – that is what makes them so special! Because there is only one example of each ring, it is rare for a sold-out ring to be back in stock later. But you can enter your email address on the product page, and you will be notified when the ring is back in stock or when a similar piece has been added to the collection. Order & Shipping
- Please note that all shipments are insured until they are delivered to you.
- The shipping timeline provided during checkout is a rough estimate of the number of days it takes for your order to be delivered from the shipping date, excluding weekends, holidays, and unpredictable delays by couriers, such as bad weather, high volume, or traffic. Any changes made by the customer to the delivery options may cause delays in delivery. If your order contains in-stock items, items shipped later, and/or made-to-order pieces, the shipping date may change. Be sure to check the dates provided during checkout and in your confirmation email.
- Shipping costs are calculated based on the subtotal before taxes, discounts, and non-refundable items.
- Shipments outside the EU may incur additional customs and service fees. Please note that AVJ has no control over these fees and cannot provide information about the costs, as they vary by country. Contact your local customs office for more information. Please note that we are unable to refund customs duties and taxes paid upon delivery.

Through our return portal you can create a return label yourself to send your purchase back to us. If you send the package with a self-obtained return label, the shipping costs are at your own expense and we cannot guarantee lost packages.
Make sure the item is well packed, in the original box, and ensure the box is properly sealed.
We would like to point out that your return shipment will be processed at our headquarters within 3-5 working days after receipt. As soon as this is completed, you will receive a confirmation by email!

Although we cannot guarantee your exact size without physically measuring your finger or trying on one of our rings in the store, we have some handy tips that can help you determine your ring size or the ring size of a special someone!
If you already have a ring that fits perfectly, whether it was given as a gift or is an heirloom, simply take a ruler and measure its inner diameter. Then compare this with our size chart available here.
Make an appointment with our advisors to be advised on creating a custom design. We are sure that we will come to an agreement together.
Factors subject to continuous change, such as disruptions in the global supply chain, inflation, and fluctuations in the costs of raw materials like gold and diamonds, can occasionally affect our prices. We remain vigilant in monitoring these production variables and are committed to continuing to offer high-quality products at competitive prices.
Each piece of jewelry is made with a hallmark, and we strive to sell only jewelry with a hallmark. However, vintage jewelry has its own history (all pieces are at least 20 years old). Over time, they may have been altered or resized multiple times. This could mean that the hallmark has been lost, but this does not change the fact that the jewelry is 100% real gold.
The hallmark is often located on the inside of a ring or on the clasp of an earring, bracelet, or necklace.
Sustainability
We give jewelry that has been worn before a new life and create collections from 100% recycled gold material and ethically sourced stones.
To prevent overproduction, we keep a small stock of the Conscious collection. Additionally, we only work with suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and choose diamonds that meet the standards of the Kimberley Process.
Since 2020, we have also been working with organizations like Makers Unite, which offer newcomers in the Netherlands the chance to find work by contributing to projects including ours. Together, we created a limited edition Jewel Pouch.

Recycled gold can come from various sources, including old, unused, or discarded jewelry and electronic waste. The more gold we recycle and reintroduce into the industry, the more beneficial it is for both the industry and the environment. In terms of quality, there is no difference between recycled gold and newly mined gold. Recycled gold offers the same enchanting shine while promoting sustainability and reducing waste. Gold, as a stable element, retains its appearance and integrity regardless of how many times it is recycled.

The jewelry industry lags behind other sectors when it comes to ethical production and transparency. Although gold, silver, and gemstones are beautiful natural wonders, their extraction and production are often associated with human rights violations, environmental damage, and exploitation.
To promote responsible business practices throughout the entire jewelry supply chain, the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) was established. In 2005, this non-profit organization was founded by some of the world's largest and most well-known brands in the jewelry and mining industries. In 2009, the RJC introduced its certification program aimed at increasing consumer confidence in the purchase of jewelry, including diamonds, gold, and platinum.
The Responsible Jewellery Council has developed a measurement methodology focused on five key areas, inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

- Peace
- Partnerships
The goal of the Responsible Jewellery Council is to promote ethical production and transparency in the jewelry industry with a strong focus on people and the planet. This includes good labor rights and working conditions.

We offer physical gift cards. You can choose the desired value for the gift card. Please note that gift cards cannot be returned.
AVJ gift cards are only valid if purchased on amsterdamvintagejewels.com or in our store. Gift cards purchased from third parties cannot be accepted or reissued by AVJ.
AVJ reserves the right to cancel any order that violates these policies. More details can be found in the Terms and Conditions.
Add a note to your order for discreet packaging, and we will ensure that the origin of the package is not visible on the outside.
