Order & Shipping

Our shipping costs are calculated based on the subtotal before discounts and taxes. All shipments are insured until delivery. The delivery time you see at checkout is an estimate and may vary due to weekends, holidays, or courier delays. The stock status is indicated per product.

If you order multiple variants of the same product, such as different ring sizes, or when items belong together (e.g., a necklace with a pendant), we will ship your order all at once as soon as everything is in stock. If you order different products that are in stock (e.g., a ring and a necklace), the in-stock part will be shipped immediately and we will send the remaining part as soon as it arrives.

For shipments outside the EU, additional customs and service fees may apply. These vary by country and cannot be refunded by AVJ.

After packing your order, we will send you a tracking number by email so you can follow the delivery.

When a vintage piece is made to measure, processing can take up to 5 working days.

In stock: these items are immediately available.
Ordered before 15:00 = shipped the same day. You can see the stock status both on the product page and in your shopping cart.

Shipped later: these items are not immediately available and will be sent as soon as they arrive. The status “Shipped later” is displayed on the product page and in your shopping cart, including an expected delivery date.

Made-to-order: these items are specially made for you after placing your order. The expected delivery time is on the product page and in your shopping cart, so you always know when to expect it.

Europe: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Italy, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Norway, Austria, Poland, Spain, Sweden.

North America: America, Canada

Send us an email immediately and then call us, so we can intercept your order in the warehouse before it is shipped.

Important: we are not responsible for incorrectly entered addresses. If an order has already been shipped to the address you provided, unfortunately we can no longer change it.

Note: engraved items cannot be canceled or changed after placing the order.

Returns & Exchanges

Please note that the original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the refundable amount. Orders shipped outside Europe may incur additional customs duties and taxes. You are responsible for paying these fees, and unfortunately, we cannot waive or refund them, even if the order is returned to us.

You can return your purchase within 45 days. For customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg, returns are free.

For EU returns we charge €20, for countries outside the EU €30. These costs will be deducted from the refundable amount. Shipping costs for Express shipments are not reimbursed.

Online and in-store purchases

You can come by for a return without an appointment on weekdays. Check our opening hours for drop-off times.

We have a 45-day exchange policy for all customers who have made a purchase both online and offline. To be eligible for an exchange, you must have your order confirmation email at hand or submit a return request via our return portal, and all items must meet the return conditions as stated in our Return Policy.

If you live in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, or Luxembourg, you can return your purchase free of charge within the specified period of 45 days. For all other countries, costs may be charged as stated in our Return Policy.

Through our return portal you can create a return label yourself to send your purchase back to us. If you send the package with a self-obtained return label, the shipping costs are at your own expense and we cannot guarantee lost packages.

Make sure the item is well packed, in the original box, and ensure the box is properly sealed

We would like to point out that your return shipment will be processed at our headquarters within 3-5 working days after receipt. As soon as this is completed, you will receive a confirmation by email!

Warranty & Care

Yes. We stand behind the quality of our jewelry and offer a warranty on all items.

Can't drop off your jewelry at the showroom? Then we charge €20 shipping within NL, DE, and BE. For other countries, shipping costs apply as in the checkout.

Conscious Collection – 2 years warranty

Our Conscious Collection comes with a 2-year warranty from the date of purchase, including a certificate of authenticity.

The warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing and material defects

The warranty does not cover:

  • Loss
  • Scratches and wear from normal use (such as a bent ring or broken chain)
  • Improper use or storage
  • Modifications/repairs by an external jeweler

Vintage Collection – 3 months warranty

Our Vintage collection comes with a 3-month warranty from the date of purchase. Each piece is thoroughly inspected beforehand, but since we are not the maker, we cannot offer a longer warranty.

We discourage modifications by external jewelers. This may exclude the right to a refund or replacement if a defect occurs afterward.

Repairs

Is your jewelry outside the warranty or did the damage occur otherwise? We always offer repairs at a fair, reasonable price.

Although we cannot guarantee your exact size without physically measuring your finger or trying on one of our rings in the store, we have some handy tips that can help you determine your ring size or the ring size of a special someone!

If you already have a ring that fits perfectly, whether it was given as a gift or is an heirloom, simply take a ruler and measure its inner diameter. Then compare this with our size chart available here.

Yes, sometimes. The prices of gold, diamonds, and other raw materials can fluctuate. Factors such as inflation and global disruptions in the supply chain can also affect our costs.

We closely monitor these developments and only adjust our prices when it is truly necessary. Our goal always remains to offer high-quality jewelry at a fair and competitive price.

We strive to sell only vintage jewelry with a hallmark. Almost all pieces were originally provided with an official hallmark.

Because vintage jewelry is at least 20 years old and has sometimes been altered, remade, or custom-made multiple times, it can happen that the hallmark has faded over time or disappeared during a previous alteration. This does not affect authenticity: all our vintage pieces have been checked and consist of 100% real gold.

Hallmarks are usually found on the inside of a ring or on the clasp of earrings, bracelets, or necklaces.

Sustainability

We give jewelry that has been worn before a new life and create collections from 100% recycled gold material and ethically sourced stones.

To prevent overproduction, we keep a small stock of the Conscious collection. Additionally, we only work with suppliers certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) and choose diamonds that meet the standards of the Kimberley Process.

Since 2020, we have also been working with organizations like Makers Unite, which give newcomers in the Netherlands the chance to find work by collaborating on projects including ours. Together, we have created a limited edition Jewel Pouch.

Traceability in the jewelry industry refers to the ability to follow the entire journey of creating a piece, from start to finish. This includes identifying responsible sources for precious materials and ensuring that more sustainable processes are used in manufacturing and delivering our pieces. From issues such as human rights violations to environmental damage, the jewelry industry can have a significant impact on workers, the environment, and economies worldwide. By carefully tracing every detail and ensuring safety, fairness, and improved processes, AVJ can contribute to a better future for the industry and the planet.

Recycled gold can come from various sources, including old, unused, or discarded jewelry and electronic waste. The more gold we recycle and reintroduce into the industry, the more beneficial it is for both the industry and the environment. In terms of quality, there is no difference between recycled gold and newly mined gold. Recycled gold offers the same enchanting shine while promoting sustainability and reducing waste. Gold, as a stable element, retains its appearance and integrity regardless of how many times it is recycled.

The jewelry industry lags behind other sectors when it comes to ethical production and transparency. Although gold, silver, and gemstones are beautiful natural wonders, their extraction and production are often associated with human rights violations, environmental damage, and exploitation.

To promote responsible business practices throughout the entire jewelry supply chain, the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC) was established. In 2005, this non-profit organization was founded by some of the world's largest and most well-known brands in the jewelry and mining industries. In 2009, the RJC introduced its certification program aimed at increasing consumer confidence in the purchase of jewelry, including diamonds, gold, and platinum.

The Responsible Jewellery Council has developed a measurement methodology focused on five key areas, inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:

The goal of the Responsible Jewellery Council is to promote ethical production and transparency in the jewelry industry with a strong focus on people and the planet. This includes good labor rights and working conditions.

Gifts

Yes. We offer both digital and physical gift cards, available in various values. Gift vouchers cannot be returned.

Our gift cards are only valid when purchased through amsterdamvintagejewels.com or in our showroom. Gift vouchers purchased through third parties cannot unfortunately be accepted or reissued by us.

Yes. All our orders are shipped by default in a neutral, brown box without logos or distinctive features. The contents cannot be identified from the outside.

The sender is listed as "Ams Vintage" with our address. This is discreet, but anyone who looks up our name or address can see that the package comes from us.

Unfortunately, we cannot change anything about this due to shipping and insurance regulations.

Do you want complete privacy? Then have your order delivered to an address other than your home address, such as your workplace, a parcel point, or to someone who isn't buying the gift for you.

Yes. In your shopping cart, you can add a note with your personal message (max. 140 words).

We will then wrap your order as a gift and add a handwritten card with your text.
